According to the Triangle Business Journal, the renowned apparel company, Nike, is considering setting up shop in one of the most iconic buildings in Chapel Hill.
The striking Parkline building at 1830 Fordham Blvd, along U.S. highways 15 and 501, could be the brand's next office space. The rhomboid-shaped building is currently occupied by UNC Health, which leased over 50,000 square feet in 2020.
Details on when the corporate giant would move and how much space it plans to occupy are still unclear.
Talk of Nike's move comes after tech giants Apple and Google announced their plans for the Triangle region. Such a move would add to the list of global companies relocating to North Carolina in 2021 and magnify the already hectic job, housing, and office space markets in the process.
