The recent construction on Governors Drive has piqued the curiosity of many residents. This development is set to become the new home of Cor4 Fitness, a fitness center dedicated to enhancing strength, endurance, and overall health and longevity through meticulously programmed workouts. Cor4 is currently located next to BOLD Construction. It will be moving to its new location which is significantly larger to allow it to serve more members. Cor4 offers programs for both youth and adults, with workouts specifically designed to target different muscle groups and encompass a range of strength and conditioning exercises. Cory Gibson, owner and founder of Cor4, shares his enthusiasm for the new space, “We are excited about the opportunities our new location offers. It will allow us to support a larger community, ensuring that more people can achieve their health and fitness goals.”

Additionally, this new building will house a 2,000-square-foot space that remains available for lease, with plans for three more buildings in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, Beacon Mixed Martial Arts has relocated to a temporary facility in the Bold Building while they wait to move into Cor4's space. Offering both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, they are the only true mixed martial arts (MMA) academy in Chapel Hill. New for 2024, they now include Beacon Physical Therapy & Performance led by Dr. Kelsi Kazmierczak, Beacon MMA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt, 2x national kickboxing champion, and UNC graduate. Kirby Farrales, owner and head coach at Beacon MMA, explains the move: “We were busting at the seams after 2 short years, so the move could not have come at a better time. We have so much in the works to mirror our Philadelphia-area headquarters: an after-school program, summer camp, physical therapy, individualized performance training, more noon classes, and eventually morning classes…and we finally have the space to get it all done. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished in such a short time and excited to see what the future holds in our new home!”

In addition, they plan to add classes on breathing techniques and meditation, essential oils for personal use, and homeopathy.
