On September 9t 2022, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced that Wolfspeed, a silicone carbon manufacturing company headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, will establish a new facility in Siler City. This announcement is North Carolinas largest economic development investment to date.
Over the next five years, Wolfspeed will invest $5 billion in the Siler City project while creating 1,800 jobs at an average salary of $77,753.
How will this impact the Triangle Real Estate Market? Scott Kelley with BOLD Real Estate says, "if we look at what has historically happened with these major establishments, we've typically seen an increase in the median sales prices throughout the Triangle. I predict the same will happen with Wolfspeed."
